& under play is designed to be the most basic instruction for new and very inexperienced players.  Learning the basic skills with fun are the key factors that coaches emphasis in this program.    Teams do not keep score so that the constant pressure of winning is eliminated, and players can concentrate on having a good time while learning.  Transitional coaches pitch to their own teams during play.  All girls in Kindergarten, 1st grade and the first time player in 2nd grade make up the teams.

& under players are expected to be able to perform the very basic skills in the game and have some knowledge of field positions and the concept of the game.  This will be the first time a player will experience live pitching from another player, as opposed to coach pitch in transitional play.  Girls ages 8 through 10 and girls having at least 2 years experience at transitional and are age 7 will make up the teams, which is usually grades 3 & 4.   All girls will be evaluated for placement on an "A" or "B" division team during open gym time in March.

& under program will take the player to the next step in the game by teaching her both offense and defense strategies.  She will have learned to perform all the basic skills in 10 & under to help her move to the next step.  She will be taught sliding, basic bunting, stealing, batting rotation, advance base coverage and skills that are not taught at the 10 & under level.  Girls in 5th and 6th are usually the core group of players in 12 & under.  All girls are evaluated during the open gym time during the month of March to be placed on an "A" or "B" team.

& under players play under ASA (Amatuer Softball Association) rules.  Players are expected to perform the skills of the game mechanically correctly  at this age.  Players in the 14 & under program will also be able to play at the Jr. High level for the school program.  It is at this level that the player is being prepared to play at the high school level.  Girls in 7th and 8th grade make up the team for 14 & under.

& under players again play under ASA rules.  These players need to be proficient in all skills in order to play at the varsity level in high school.  These girls usually are at least 15 through 18 years of age.
